‘Mother died today. Or maybe, yesterday; I can’t be sure’.(Albert Camus)
I can be sure that today, it was Macc’s turn to die a death…. eventually.
The feisty fours, uncharacteristically lacklustre at the start, managed one disallowed goal in the first half (I thought we were playing advantage), one half arsed forward roll, (Hillary granted DoD again) and a cracking goal from Louise (fired in from a short corner).
Same as last week, Captain B roused the troops at half time, making us determined to win.
Dominating the second half, with Roisin lurking high to receive the long ball, midfielders fighting hard, (some to stay upright) defence keeping the ball out of our goal. The forwards gained us about 97 short corners……from which we managed to score one more goal. Another unstoppable bullet from Louise from top of the D.
A great team effort, can victory be credited to the Sparrow Press barked out during the warm up? Or was it the setting sun in the oppo’s eyes? Or is truth stranger than fiction, we ‘put a shift in’ and deserved to win. Again.
Joint MoM went to Millie Taylor making her Wilmslow debut and Roisin Gray for her impressive first game as a forward.
Thanks to Becca and Amy for umpiring and Lindsey for organising the subs.
