Mens 4s vs Crewe Vagrants 2

Crewe brought a very strong side and we were out-numbered and out-classed. But there were still some highlights for us too.

We started brightly and with energy - but with only 10 players. Our youngsters worked hard to press the opposition and hold them up and our older players at the back did our best to defend our goal. Harrison in goal saved many attempts on goal but by half time we were 7-0 down. Given the quality of the opposition, even this was a success! Steve Kinsella joined the team for the second half but collectively we tired and lost a bit of spirit, ending the game 20-0 down.

But there were some highlights for us:

  • Harrison in goal saved many, many shots on goal
  • George’s work rate and tackling back were an example to us all
  • Will and Greg worked hard on the right to create some attacks and hold back the opposition
  • Dan had a few great breaks up the left hand side
  • Fergus was isolated up front but showed great skills and held the ball up waiting for support.

Thank you to Rachel and Toby for umpiring - great job!
