Our special friendly game between our development team and Knutsford’s equivalent team was a great success! Not only did we win decisively but our young players made a great impact.

Our team was made up of a lot of youngsters and a few older heads in support.

Five young players made their debut for an adult Wilmslow team - Yusuf, Dawud, Hamza, Michele and Elliott.
Jack and Josh are also new to adult hockey this season.

Wilmslow dominated the first half, attacking again and again and making lots of goal scoring opportunities including Dawud hitting the post. Josh’s frequent attacks tormented the Knutsford defence but the first goal came from a drag flick from Sam, driving into the D from the right wing. Knutsford were rarely in our D and our defence was strong - including Jack making a goal saving tackle on the line!

The second half saw Wilmslow make position changes to give the youngsters more opportunities and the game was more balanced. Our second goal came from a clearance from our own D, through midfield and into attack with Josh scoring a well deserved goal.
