How to order teas from Potyo

Please follow the guidance below to request food for match days.

Potyo Coastal Indian restaurant will continue to provide match-day food for the 2026/2027 season.

Although we have set a very small budget for post-match teas Potyo will nevertheless provide hot food - a small variety of curry portions or biryani wraps.

Step 1 - Estimate number of portions

Please ask the visiting team and home players how many are attending to avoid wastage. (When requested, the visiting team is obliged to notify you by Wednesday 8pm)

Remember to ask umpires if they would like to eat too.

Step 2 - Send your request by WhatsApp

Teas requests must be sent direct to Potyo by the deadline of Thursday 8pm.

Open the Potyo website and click the green "Start a Conversation" icon, to open WhatsApp on your device. Alternatively the WhatsApp number is 07507 716836..

Be sure to include the following:

  • "WHC teas request"
  • Match date
  • Your name
  • Team name
  • Pushback time
  • #Home players/umps
  • #Visiting players
  • #Meat and #Veg
  • Any special requests (#included in the above)

Example:

  • WHC teas request for Saturday 13th Sept, 1030 PB, L1s. Portions: 10 home + 10 visitors including 5 vegetarian. Thx, Joe.

Notes:

  • NEW: must specify how many vegetarian portions required, or they will all be meat
  • There is no Gluten-free option - sorry
  • Full allergy information is available on a sign in the clubhouse kitchen

Step 3 - Invite players to eat after the game

Potyo will deliver all the food in time for the end of the first match, usually noon.

Your food should be ready in the kitchen, in the warming drawer.

Your food will be labelled with your team name and number of portions. Please only take from your allotted food.

Invite the visiting team first and then home players to collect their food.

Step 4 - Clear up afterwards

Each team is responsible for clearing up after themselves, including:

  • clearing tables, plates, cutlery
  • washing any plates, cutlery (or throwing away paper plates/napkins)
  • stacking used food containers in the kitchen (they are returned)
  • leaving the kitchen clean and tidy.
  • bar staff are not responsible for clearing up after teas.

Teas co-ordinator (Rachel Payne)

The teas co-ordinator performs the following role:

  • Notify Potyo on Tuesday of Saturday's matches / times / teams. (e.g. 4 matches, "1030 L2, 1230 M2, 1430 M1, 1630 L4"
  • Check with Potyo on Friday morning that all requests received.
  • If not, chase the relevant captain.
  • Receive invoice from Potyou - check the numbers look sensible - confirm with Treasurer.
