At the Annual General Meeting of Wilmslow Hockey club on 14th June 2026, the accounts and budget were approved, including an increase in membership fees for the 2026/27 financial year. The new committee was elected including Emma Steiger as our new Chair and Megan Pugh as our new Secretary.
Membership fees for 2026/27 will increase by ~10% to achieve a balanced budget in the face of increasing costs to run the club. There are no changes to the membership categories. For a full list of membership fees, see the Membership & Match Fees page on the website.
Membership fees were last increased in May 2023 (May 2024 for Under 13s).
Match fees will be unchanged for 2026/27. Match fees have not been increased since May 2021.
From early July, adult members will have the option to make membership instalment payments rather than a one-off payment. The new Membership year starts on 1st September, when membership payments are due.
The new committee was elected, including the following:
See the committee page on the website for the full committee list. We still have vacancies for key roles including Sponsorship Officer and Development Officer.
The club is not big enough, nor is there available funding to progress a second hockey pitch in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, Wilmslow Sports Junior Football Club - who have been a provisional member of Phoenix for 18 months - are hoping to become a full member of Phoenix and start fundraising and planning for a 3G pitch on the site of the second astro planning permission. Nothing is finalised yet but the Football Foundation appears to be supportive of the project and has funds to support it. Any change to the status of Wilmslow Sports will require a vote at a Phoenix General Meeting in future.
All hockey members are automatically members of Phoenix, the organisation that looks after the clubhouse, bar and grounds. Phoenix bar revenues have fallen significantly in the last year or so and as a result the hockey fees payable to Phoenix have increased. The new hockey committee would like to encourage members to use the bar after matches and to attend social events whenever possible. Phoenix needs to generate healthy profits to enable maintenance of the facilities on site that we all benefit from.
