NEW: Veo camera

NEW: Veo camera

As part of our ongoing development, the club has invested in a VEO camera system to record and livestream selected matches.

Intended Benefits

  • Enable improved player/team performance through game analysis by coaches and players
  • Enable members, friends and family to watch live streaming of senior matches in the clubhouse or at home
  • Promote the club and sponsors via live streaming, clips/photos on social media.

The camera is intended to benefit all teams and members, not just our top teams.

Getting started with Veo

Veo has huge potential but it will take a little time and trial-and-error to find out how best to use it to benefit the club and members. Please bear with us!

If you have prior experience of Veo or if you are keen to learn about the camera, recordings, livestreaming or coaching analysis - just get in touch! We're happy to have the help!

Initially we aim to use the camera for senior matches. As we get more familiar with the camera and understand the necessary safeguarding controls we will extend to junior matches.

Safeguarding with Veo

We hope everyone will consent to be recorded and live-streamed by Veo for the benefit of coaches, teammates, the club and sponsors. But where there is a genuine safeguarding concern (from a home or visiting players) we won't record or live-stream the match.

We'll be using the Photo Permissions feature in Teamo for members and parents/guardians to give or withold their consent. To access:

  • Tap your initials/picture in the Teamo app (top left) - to edit your Profile
  • Scroll down to find the Photo Permissions switch and set as needed.
  • NB Later in the season this feature will be locked - you'll need to contact your team captain or club captain to change the setting. (This is to make sure any changes are visible and can be acted upon.)

NEW: Veo Camera & Live-streaming Policy

Our new Veo camera policy (full document attached below) sets out how to protect our members, including the following safeguarding measures:

  • Consent for recording and streaming is collected on Teamo via the Photo Permissions feature.
  • Parents/guardians provide consent for junior players via the Photo Permissions feature in Teamo.
  • The Photo Permissions feature is available to members/parents during initial and annual re-registration.
  • Opposition teams will be informed of recording and streaming in advance and offered access to the recording for their own use. They will have the opportunity to opt out, in which case the match will not be recorded or live streamed.
  • If a member is playing in a match that is due to be recorded or live streamed but has not given photo consent via the Photo Permissions feature in Teamo, that match will not be recorded or live streamed, unless express permission has been given by the player in question.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, when a member/parent has removed Photo Permissions, WHC will not publish photographs or video clips of that individual from other non-VEO sources on its website or any social media.
